Kelly Parkins-Lindstrom Bio January 30, 2011
Kelly Parkins-Lindstrom continues to actively pursue her passion for stringed instruments as a teacher and adjudicator exploring the link between pedagogy and performance.
As a teacher she has supported students who have been recipients of the highest marks awarded at the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals, the Canadian Music Competition and the prestigious Silver Medal Awards (RCM).
Currently the Strings Department Head at The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), she also conducts the RCM’s Beginner Reading Orchestra and Junior Training Orchestra. Her duties include coordinating the Junior and Intermediate Strings Programs of The Young Artists Performance Academy at The Glenn Gould School (RCM) in Toronto.
As a master class clinician and member of The College of Examiners (RCM), Ms. Parkins- Lindstrom adjudicates for The Music Teachers’ Association, Kiwanis festivals and Suzuki workshops across the North America.  Her performance history includes work with CBC Radio and Television, Canadian Stage productions, The Shaw Music Festival and orchestral freelancing with The Hamilton Symphony and The National Ballet of Canada.
Ms. Parkins-Lindstrom is a member of the Ontario Suzuki Association, the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the American Federation of Musicians and represents Canada for the American String Teacher’s Association. She is currently compiling the RCM Violin Series/Syllabus due for publication in 2013.
