Kate has been teaching violin and piano for ten years. Before moving to
Hamilton in 2009, she taught private and group violin lessons for the
University of Manitoba Suzuki program and in her own private studio in
Winnipeg. She currently maintains a home studio in West Hamilton, and
teaches for the Oakville Suzuki Association. In addition to teacher
training from the Suzuki Association of the Americas, Kate also has
training in the Orff-Schulwerk Method of music instruction. She
specializes in teaching young beginners.
When she isn't teaching, Kate is also a Ph.D. candidate at McMaster
University. Her research with Dr. Laurel Trainor investigates how
developing infants and children learn about music, either through the
world around them or through formal instruction. More information about
her research can be found at psych.mcmaster.ca/einarson
