The positions of Instrument Chairpersons are designed to provide opportunities for like-instrument or like-interest teachers to communicate on issues specific to their teaching areas.
The Chairpersons would welcome suggestions from the membership with regard to special events, and members are encouraged to telephone or write to them with their ideas. Instrument Chairpersons are also charged with the responsibility of facilitating co-operation of organizers in various Ontario centers in planning teacher training workshops during the normal teaching year with Suzuki master teachers if the opportunity for such workshop presents itself.
Local committees may be formed as needed for each project co-ordinated by the SAO Instrument Chair, and budget planning for each project will be completed with the assistance of the SAO Treasurer before any monies are spent, Instrument Chairpersons are elected and appointed by the SAO Board, but are not themselves members of the Board.
They report to the Board as requested, and act as instrument liasons to the annual SAO Conference Committee.
